Associations (on going)

A growing collection of more than 230 object scans and various installations with Detlef Klepsch

Associations explores the magical effects of objects, language and technologies.

Associations is interested in something between animism, fetishism, revitalisation, hybrid agencies between human beings, things and technologies.

Associations is realized as transmedial installations in exhibition spaces or public spaces and focuses on the relationship between object and human being.

We use digital scans. These scans are fictions of the objects, they transform data into an image, they do it gradually. The images are transformed into installations or video sequences; we update the artistic representation of motionless objects: still life or natura morta.

Beyond and parallel to a capitalist increase in the value of a thing in the context of its sale, this is about the charging of objects with individual or collective meaning. It is also about the translation of perception and feelings into language and image through technical processes of capturing and documenting.
