From The Suburbs, Video (2025)

From November 22 to December 6, 2025, the video was shown at UNITE in Ankara (TUR). UNITE Mag conducted an interview with me. You can read it here here .

On September 4, 2025, I presented this video work at the municipal youth club in Ratingen-West as part of Parrots and Swans.

From March 13 to August 16, 2026, the Museum Ratingen (GER) will show the video as part of the group exhibition “Linie, Fläche, Raum.”

The video is a collaboration with Zeynep Özmen, Mübeccel Kaya and Linda Rödel Ҫiftҫi – women from Ankara whom I met in May 2025. It features footage of Ankara, Seoul, Florence and Ratingen accompanied by a poem. The poem was written after extensive walks through Ankara and translated by Coşkun Demirok and ChatGPT. In it, I transfer bodily reactions triggered by a sense of shame onto buildings. This personification can be extended to other cities or objects.
